2023 Mystery Guest - Santiago Lange!
with, for the third year in a row, all-star celebrity crew and Olympic 470 class sailor Lara Dallman-Weiss

We have been working several years to sign up this highly decorated international Mystery Guest for this 100th E Scow Anniversary season.

Our Mystery Guest Santi has an incredible Olympic history for his home country of Argentina:
  • He was most recently the Flag Bearer in both the opening and closing ceremonies – keep in mind, it’s not often a country selects a sailor to be the flag bearer…
  • Maybe it has something to do with competing in the Olympics 7 times over a 32 year period and…
  • winning a Gold medal in Rio sailing the Nacra 17
  • and as if Olympic sailing isn’t difficult enough, this Gold medal win was shortly after surviving lung cancer and losing half of one of his lungs
  • He also won 2 Bronze medals in the Tornado
In between Olympic training, he has found time to win 4 World Championships – 3 in the Snipe and one in the Tornado.

If that wasn’t enough, Santi also has completed a Volvo Ocean Race and has participated in two Americas Cup campaigns.

He is also a world renowned naval architect.

Oh, and by the way, Santi has a lifetime Red Bull athlete sponsorship.

The Blue Chip Regatta is hosted by the Pewaukee Yacht Club in Wisconsin. The E Scow is a 28 foot lightweight racing sailboat built by Melges with an asymmetric spinnaker, sailed by 3 to 4 people that can easily reach speeds in excess of 20 knots. Each year, an elite, international sailor is invited as a special guest that is kept a mystery until just before the event. We provide the sailboat and the crew. If you love sailing, you must follow this event.
